At 14, Jamal faced challenges with behavior, often finding himself in conflicts and altercations at school. His difficulties in managing his emotions and actions, particularly in relation to problem sexual behavior (PSB) incidents, were escalating. Recognizing the need for intervention, Jamal was directed to the YOS MST-PSB counseling services.

Over an eight-month period, Jamal, alongside his caregiver, diligently participated in MST-PSB services. This commitment led to a notable reduction in behavioral issues at school, and importantly, there were no new instances of PSB during this time.

A follow-up six months after the completion of the program revealed further positive developments. Jamal’s behavior and academic performance at school continued to improve. Equally significant was the enhancement in family communication and overall functioning. Notably, Jamal maintained his progress, with no further PSB incidents in the six-month post-treatment phase.

Jamal’s journey through the program culminated in remarkable personal growth. He gained the skills and confidence to independently engage with his community, participate in key high school events like prom and social gatherings, and even began to explore job opportunities as he approached graduation. Jamal’s story is a testament to the transformative power of dedicated support and the resilience of youth in overcoming behavioral challenges. View More Success Stories >>
