YOS believes career exploration helps build a stronger connection to the youth’s community and a sense of purpose.
For several years, YOS has participated in the Chicago Youth Works summer employment program initiated by the City of Chicago. As a worksite, we directly hire youth to work at YOS. In addition, we provide computer labs for young people to complete their homework and apply for jobs.
YOS helps youth prepare for a productive, meaningful adulthood by focusing on self-sufficiency through employment and occupational training. Since the program started, we have successfully employed hundreds of youths and guided them through managing their responsibilities.
