Diversion & Reentry Services

Reentry services are provided to juveniles returning to the community from detention or the Department of Juvenile Justice. Diversion cases are those referrals where we aim to prevent them from entering the system.

The R.I.S.E. (Restoring Individuals through Supportive Environments) program is a diversion program for youth aged between 14-18 years, located at YOS’s Austin office. The program provides intensive mentoring and skill-building opportunities for justice-involved youth. The 4-month curriculum is focused on civic engagement and restorative justice. This program is specifically designed to improve outcomes for young males with multiple arrests and reduce their involvement in violent behavior.

YOS believes finding community-based alternatives to expensive incarceration is a better way to break the cycle of further involvement in the juvenile justice system.
