Mike serves as President of Cottingham & Butler, the third-largest privately held, independent insurance brokerage in the United States. Headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa, the company employs more than 1,500 professionals nationwide and specializes in innovative property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, and healthcare cost management solutions. In addition to his executive leadership, Mike chairs Cottingham & Butler’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative, reflecting his commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
Mike holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
As a longtime member of the Youth Outreach Services Board of Directors, Mike brings extensive expertise in business leadership, financial management, and strategic planning, along with a strong commitment to advancing YOS’s mission of empowering underserved youth and families.
Mike and his wife, Valerie, are proud parents of six children.
