Executive Board of Directors

The YOS Board of Directors is an integral part of furthering the agency’s mission, vision and goals, helping to ensure the safety and well-being of youth and families served. The Board is responsible for a variety of functions, including, but not limited to:

• Hiring and supporting the executive director.
• Overseeing the strategic plan.
• Actively participating with staff in the overall programmatic planning process.
• Determining, monitoring and strengthening the organization’s programs and services.
• Working in partnership with the executive director and development staff to raise funds.
• Adopting an annual budget and ensuring proper financial controls are in place.
• Ensuring legal and ethical integrity.
• Recruiting and orienting new Board members, and assessing Board performance.

Comprised of successful young professionals from a variety of Chicago’s leading companies, Youth Outreach Services (YOS) Auxiliary Board is responsible for organizing a wide array of fundraising and social events, all aimed at increasing financial support for and awareness of the agency and its efforts to inspire positive development in youth, families and communities.
